Head to the land of the Cherokee Indians located in Swain County, NC. Tourists visit the area to learn about the Cherokee Indian culture and have fun at Harrah’s Cherokee casino. The population was just under 14,000 in 2010 and the county seat is in Bryson City. There is plenty of outdoor recreation including the Nantahala River is known for world-class whitewater rafting.
