Relocate to McDowell County NC
Sitting to the west of Asheville is McDowell County, NC. The county seat is the town of Marion but other small towns like Old Fort and Little Switzerland are spread throughout. Lake James, one of the largest in the area, is perhaps the biggest draw in the area. The 2010 population was just shy of 45,000 residents.
