Henderson County and WNC Fireworks 2020

WNC 4th of July Fireworks 2020

Although Asheville, NC may have canceled this year’s fireworks festivities, there are several other towns in Western North Carolina having firework displays.

  • Hendersonville, NC
The show starts at 9:30 PM.  There is plenty of room for the public to spread out to view the fireworks, since the launch site is centrally located in the business district, just south of downtown. A large red balloon will be launched the morning of the 4th to signify visibility of the fireworks show, if you can see the “Big Red Balloon”, you can see the fireworks from your location. • Bryson City, NC
At 10 pm, experience the best fireworks show in the Smokies! The fireworks are shot off of Airport Hill, which overlooks the town. There are plenty of good vantage points in the area. Downtown streets will not be closed but there are good spots on sidewalks, in Railroad Square, in the large Great Smoky Mountains Railroad parking lot, and other business lots as well as several municipal lots. Map of fireworks viewing options. • Maggie Valley
Those visiting for the day will be welcomed to Town by a number of unique restaurants and shops, looking forward to making this Independence Day a memorable one. We invite you to enjoy all that our town has to offer, including our four creekfront parks. Due to state regulations guests should not expect a special events atmosphere featuring live music or mobile souvenir or food vendors.

The Town encourages our citizens and visitors to watch the fireworks from locations where they can enjoy the show while maintaining the recommended social distance requirements. Unlike years past, the Festival Grounds gates will be closed and the Grounds will not be available for fireworks viewing.  For our residents, we suggest staying at home and watching the fireworks from your deck, patio or yard. For those enjoying July 4th in one of our many lodging venues, try viewing the fireworks from your parking lot or balcony. Those hoping to watch the fireworks from the Town’s sidewalk system or public parking areas may do so, but space will be limited due to the need for appropriate social distancing. For more info visit the main site.
