- What is your business all about? How long have you been in business?
Crate Wine Market & Project specializes in wine for all palates and price points. Our goal is to provide every single customer with an exceptional experience that is informed, relaxed, and special. In the summer of 2015, we lived in the Detroit area, and visited Hendersonville for what was supposed to be a five day visit. We loved it so much that eleven days later we were still here and knew that we wanted to move to Hendersonville and raise our son in a community with easy access to the outdoors. We opened Crate on January 8, 2016, and just celebrated our six-year anniversary. Part of our vision over the past six years has been to engage the community in a meaningful way that produces positive outcomes for the people who live here. - What do you feel makes your business unique?
We stock wines from all over the world with a focus on small production and family owned wineries. Our team works really hard to find unique wines that are not only delicious but also affordable. This means we are always bringing new wines into the store. In addition, we also carry a curated selection of locally produced goods. - What would you recommend that a first-time customer try?
While we carry wines at every price point, we have a new section called the Crate Sixer. For $60 you get to explore and pick 6 bottles, which may include reds, whites or rosés. It’s a great way to start experiencing a variety of wines and figure out what you like. Our team rotates the wines weekly so there’s always something new to try. Tell us what you are having for dinner and we’ll help find the perfect pairing. - What is your favorite thing to do when you are not in the store?
We enjoy cooking dinner as a family, doing the occasional collaborative drawing with Viggo, and yelling “Sonny, Drop it! Come”. - How can people find out more and keep connected?
